TweetFilm at Emerging Writers’ Festival 2012 – Looking For Alibrandi

We are proud and excited to be back at the Emerging Writers’ Festival for the second year in a row with another Australian literature-themed TweetFilm! After the success of last year’s dose of share house craziness, we’re going back to high school, and screening the film Looking For Alibrandi, based on the much-loved novel by Sydney author Melina Marchetta.

Important note to our regulars! As this TweetFilm is part of the Emerging Writers’ Festival, bookings are required, which you can do here.

We’re at our usual venue Loop, on Monday May 28, at a slightly later starting time of 8:15 (arrive from 8:00), using this hashtag:

#tfalibrandi

Not in Melbourne, or can’t get there but still want to take part? No problem! We’ll be synchronising our start time with timeanddate.com’s Melbourne page as usual, so you can take part at home. Read our how-to page for all the details.

So, to sum up…
Where: Loop, 23 Meyers Place, Melbourne / anywhere with a DVD player
When: Monday May 28, arrive from 8:00 pm for an 8:15 start.

TweetFilm No. 14 – The Big Lebowski

“Eight-year-olds, dude.”

Who hasn’t sat around quoting this movie verbatim for probably far too long? Definitely one of the Coen Bros.’ most enduringly popular flicks, The Big Lebowski has a cult following to rival Rocky Horror (and it’s a lot easier to dress in costume for it). So what better way to celebrate your love for The Dude, Walter, Donnie, Jesus, Bunny, Maude and so on than joining us for this month’s TweetFilm?

On Tuesday May 8, at 7:30 pm, you’d better be into the whole brevity thing man, because you’re only gonna have 140 characters, even less when you use this hashtag:

#tflebowski

We’re back at our regular venue Loop this month, and they’re getting into the Lebowski spirit as well. On the night of the screening, there will be mini White Russians available for only $6! I tried to get them to install a bowling alley, but they said this was cheaper.

If you’re in Melbourne, Loop is located at 23 Meyers Place in the CBD, at the Parliament end of Bourke St.
